Overview
The product of eight industrious years and over eight hundred cubic metres of wood, the 51m/167ft charter yacht ‘Dunia Baru’ is in every respect a jewel of Indonesia. Conceived by an experienced and local yachtsman, the vessel fuses luxury amenities with an interior and exterior which showcases the exceptional craftsmanship of Konjo Boat Builders. A familiar and treasured sight around Komodo and Raja Ampat, Dunia Baru has developed an enviable reputation as a vessel which is perfectly primed for her charter grounds. Exterior Design
Whilst taking her name from the Indonesian expression for ‘New World’, it is assuredly the old world which is recalled by Dunia Baru’s exterior design. Strikingly traditional whilst at the same time noticeably opulent, the dark hull and impressive rigging make her the most iconic phinisi on the water. Likewise, a collection of discreetly placed lights illuminate Dunia Baru at night to ensure she remains a spectacle at all times. Overall, such exterior styling reveals the adventurous philosophy which inspired the vessel’s construction, and hints towards the elegance to be found inside.
Interior Design
Following the delivery of her ironwood hull, Dunia Baru was transported to Bali to receive an interior from a series of expert carpenters based in Bali. A masterpiece in carpentry, all of her fixtures and furnishings have been meticulously finished to an exacting standard, and the materials have been sourced from a number of internationally recognised locations. Orientated around a uniquely convenient layout, areas like the open-style galley and bridge are replete with subtle touches such as intricate wooden weaves and immaculately grained panelling. Sure to satisfy charterers more familiar with modern motor yachts, the communal and private spaces ultimately form something of a tranquil retreat to rest up in following an active day out on the water.
